    Student Interviews

    Do you have a natural curiosity about people? Do you believe that everyone has a story to share? Well, we know people that attended Manda School and we need volunteers to record their memory. This can be done in the written word or through a video interview.

    Old Photos of the School

    We are looking for old photos of the school. Do you think you might have some stashed away? Do you have a relative that might have some? We are looking for originals so that we can produce high resolution scans for archive and potentially hanging framed copies at the school. You keep the original, we just want a good copy.

    Join the effort!

    We need your help. It can be anything from mowing the grass, providing some touch-up paint, or any other skills that you can bring to the organization. Let us know!

    Our Story

    The New Sweden/Manda Schoolhouse is the only remaining two room school house in Travis County that comes from the early 1900s era. There were some 30 rural school houses like the one at Manda/New Sweden but this is the only one that remains in Travis County. Learn more here.

    The Schoolhouse is available for rental for your wedding, social, music event. We will add more here soon but please contact us if you are interested.
